Day One:
Start your trip with a visit to the National Museum of the Marine Corps. With world-class, interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology visitors will learn about the history of the Marines including the most recent war on terrorism. Start in the Leatherneck Gallery with hanging aircraft from the ceiling and tanks in the lobby. Watch a movie on the history of the Marines before journeying into the first interactive exhibit that simulates the intensity of boot camp. Test your rifle skills later on with a laser-designated target acquisition M-16 at the rifle range. Feel the ground shake as you land on Iwo Jima on D-Day in 1945 or brave the cold elements in the winter battlefield room depicting the Korean War. If you’re hungry and ready for lunch stop by the Mess Hall for a hearty meal or venture out to one of the local eateries. Check into your hotel to for a break before the afternoon begins.

For your afternoon, enjoy the excitement of shopping at Potomac Mills. This outlet mall has over 300,000 square feet of shopping space with more than 25 eateries. A completely enclosed shopping attraction, Potomac Mills offers wonderful discounts at more than 225 brand name and manufacturer’s outlets. Anchor stores such as Nordstrom Rack, Off 5th-Saks Fifth Avenue, Burlington Coat Factory, G Street Fabrics, joined with smaller outlet stores such as United Colors of Benetton, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic together offer a wide selection for any shopping desire. Visit anyone of the dozens of eateries inside or surrounding the mall for dinner or retreat to your hotel for the evening.
Day Two:
After breakfast start your day with a trip to Manassas Museum. Visitors experience the rich heritage of the area through exhibits, programs, historic artifacts, and rare photographs. Visit the Echoes Museum Store, one of the best museum gift shops around. If visiting in summer, the Summer Sounds concert series provides a welcomed and harmonious respite. The concerts are hosted on the museum lawn. Stop by a local restaurant for lunch after you’ve worked up an appetite.
That afternoon head over to tour The Manassas National Battlefield Park to learn and examine the history of the First and Second Battles of Manassas. Take the 12 mile driving tour or hike the trails in this 5,000 acre park. Explore all of the interactive exhibits and collection that are housed in the visitors center. Watch the 45-minute film “Manassas: End of Innocence” shown daily in the theater inside the visitors center. Return to the hotel for a chance to freshen up.
Begin your evening with dinner and a show at The Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre. This distinguished dinner theatre presents an outstanding Pennsylvania-Dutch style buffet, followed by a full-scale Broadway production that is extraordinary. Performances change throughout the year, but the quality of show remains the same. Ready to unwind after an exhilarating day, retreat to the hotel for a full night’s rest.
Day Three:

After check out and a hearty breakfast, drive to Prince William Forest Park. The 15,00O acre piedmont forest the only national forest park in the DC metro area with streams, ponds, waterfalls, over 35 miles of scenic hiking trails, a scenic driving loop and camping, it's an inviting place to explore when visiting the county. Prince William Forest Park has recreational activities to suit everyone. Stop by a local eatery for lunch before heading into DC for additional sightseeing or departing for home.
