HISTORIC CHARM, BREATHTAKING SCENERY

Day One:

After a hearty breakfast at Bob Evans, get to know Prince William County beginning with a tour of the historic streets of Occoquan.  This 300 year old riverfront community is rich with history and more than 100 antique, art and craft shops, and restaurants.  Tour the quaint Mill House Museum to learn about Occoquan’s 18th century mill town beginnings.

When you’ve worked up an appetite just stop by the Virginia Grill for mouth-watering seafood, steaks, soup or salad for your afternoon lunch.  What better way to dine than while enjoying a scrumptious meal and taking in the beautiful scenic Occoquan River.  Later board your tour motorcoach and head over to Potomac Mills for an afternoon of shopping. Potomac Mills features over 225 outlet and retail stores, cinema and food court.  All registered groups receive free shopping bags and coupon books to make your shopping trip a delightful one.

In the evening get ready to be entertained at the Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre.  One of the oldest and most prestigious dinner theatres in the Washington, D.C. area, the Lazy Susan presents an outstanding Pennsylvania-Dutch Buffet followed by a full scale Broadway production.  For a full nights rest, return to your Prince William County hotel for a pleasant evening.

Day Two:

Start your morning after a wonderful breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Work off those calories with a tour of The Manassas National Battlefield Park to learn and examine the history of the First and Second Battles of Manassas.  Take the 12 mile driving tour or hike the trails in this 5,000 acre park.  Explore all of the interactive exhibits and collections that are housed in the visitors center.  Watch the 45-minute film “Manassas: End of Innocence” shown daily in the theater inside the visitors center, the film narrates the stories of five individuals whose lives were forever changed by the battles.

Stop for lunch at one of our many fine restaurants located in close proximity to the Battlefield before heading for a tour of Historic Old Town Manassas.  Stroll down the narrow streets and enjoy the charming turn-of-the-century architecture.  Browse through art galleries.  Visit merchants who offer antiques, country crafts, furnishings, and treasures by local artisans. Don’t forget to explore the Manassas Museum for history on this historic railroad town. Equipped with interactive exhibits, detailed displays, and gift shop, this is one attraction that has something for all to enjoy.

Ready for dining in the evening?  Stop by one Old Town’s unique local restaurants for a delightful meal to please your taste.  Board the motorcoach to head to your hotel to rejuvenate for the last day of your tour.

Day Three:

Start your morning with breakfast at the hotel or a local restaurant before starting your tour of the National Museum of the Marine Corps.  This 118,000 square-foot museum will allow you to participate in interactive exhibits that includes an intense boot camp experience and a walk through winter battlefield scene from the Korean War.  For a small piece of the museum to take home visit the museum’s gift shop for a wonderful memorabilia.

When you’re ready for lunch, stop by the museum’s Tun Tavern pub for an afternoon lunch and cold brew.  Board the motorcoach for the trip home after your exciting visit to Prince William County.
