FOURTH OF JULY IN PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY/MANASSAS, VIRGINIA FEATURES FIREWORKS, FOOD AND FAMILY FUN!

Prince William County, Virginia – From a crab feast, to a baseball game, to picnics and a parade -- complete with fireworks – Prince William County, Virginia’s Independence Day 2007 festivities will light up the night sky!  Some of the fun starts even before the Fourth of July!  The Prince William County/Manassas, Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) (www.visitpwc.com) announces the highlights:

Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant & Crabhouse:  1510 Cherryhill Drive, Dumfries, VA 22026, (703) 441-1375 – A boat “drive through,” with a marine radio to take your orders, will be set up at the end of the restaurant pier!  Ribs, chicken, hamburger, hot dogs; steamed crabs by the dozen -- by request – with a fireworks finale!  You can also get a view from across the water at Leesylvania State Park.

Fourth of July Parade & Family Fun Day -- Kirkdale Dr., Dale Blvd., Gemini Way, Dale City, Va. – 10 a.m. -- Parade, followed by rides, food and displays in the commuter lot between Comcast and Center Plaza.

Rippon Lodge Historic Site, 15500 Blackburn Road, Woodbridge, Va. -- 703-792-4754 – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. --   Prince William County Historic Preservation presents a Star Spangled Picnic featuring tours, games, crafts and entertainment. Bring a picnic lunch to eat on the lawn or buy treats once you arrive. $5 per person; children under 2, free admission. Handicapped-accessible.

Manassas Park, Va. – 9300 Signal View Drive -- 703-335-8872 – 5-10 p.m. -- Games, food, rides and fireworks. Limited parking. $3 per vehicle. Free shuttle bus at all Omnilink stops as well as the Manassas Park VRE lot, City Hall and Costello Park Recreation Center.  Handicapped-accessible.  Free admission.

Manassas Museum lawn, 9431 West Street, Manassas, Va.  – 703-368-1873 – 4 p.m. – festival; 9:15 p.m. – fireworks.  Games, moon bounce, rides and entertainment. Historic Manassas, Inc. launches what it describes as “the largest Fourth of July fireworks display in Northern Virginia!”  Handicapped-accessible.   Free admission.

Potomac Nationals v. Myrtle Beach Pelicans – Pfitzner Stadium, 7 County Complex, off Prince William Parkway.  Gates open at 5 p.m.; Game at 6:35 p.m. Fireworks follow.  Tickets available from $6-$12; you must buy a ticket to watch the fireworks.  Parking is $3 per car and $5 per bus.  Picnic package includes reserved seat ticket beginning at 5 p.m., and all-you-can-eat buffet of hamburgers, hot dogs, side items, dessert and drinks.  $20 per adult; $17 per child (12 and under). Packages must be purchased in advance of July 4th and will NOT be available the day of the game.
