COLES DISTRICT SUPERVISOR MARTIN NOHE MAKES A PITCH FOR TOURISM AT POTOMAC NATIONALS GAME!

Prince William County, VA – Martin Nohe of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors (PWBOCS) made a pitch for tourism during a Potomac Nationals (www.potomacnationals.com) game the night of Monday, May 14, 2007 at Pfitzner Stadium off Prince William Parkway!

Nohe took tickets from fans and met the Vice President/General Manager of the Potomac Nationals, Bobby Holland.  Nohe also greeted mascot Uncle Slam, who holds the title of “Director of Fun” and “#1 Fan” for the Potomac Nationals!  Nohe then threw the ceremonial first pitch of the game against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.  The Coles District Supervisor’s appearance was part of a National Tourism Week event, organized by the Prince William County/Manassas, Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau (www.visitpwc.com).

“Tourism is a significant element of our community's economic health,” said Nohe.  “Prince William has countless attractions that draw revenues into our county, though many of them may not be immediately apparent.  For instance, the Potomac Nationals have a great fan base, many of whom come from outside our County to enjoy a family-friendly sporting event.  I am proud the Potomac Nationals have made Prince William their home, and they represent a real amenity for both our residents and residents of the region," he added.

Nohe was elected to the Board of County Supervisors in November 2003. He was elected by the Board to serve as the Vice Chair for calendar year 2007.  Nohe has served as the Director of the Prince William Soil and Conservation District, chair of the Potomac Council and chair of the Prince William Youth Services Board.  Nohe is the president of Appliance Connection, a Woodbridge-based, family-owned store.  He and his family live in Woodbridge.
