Rippon Lodge is believed to be the oldest home still standing in Prince William County, with construction spanning three centuries. The original colonial home, built by Richard Blackburn circa 1747, includes additions built in 1800 and 1924. A four-year renovation culminated with a grand opening celebration in October 2007. The site, listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places, is now open for public tours and utilized for special events and educational, interpretive programs. Group tours and tours during the winter months must be scheduled ahead of time.
