Afternoon Tea: Sense and Sensibility

With its all-star cast, tasteful direction from Ang Lee, and Oscar-winning screenplay by the film’s star, Emma Thompson, there are few things on this Earth more comforting than 1995’s SENSE AND SENSIBILITY. Unless, of course, you could watch SENSE AND SENSIBILITY with a full service of tea and treats. That would be the most comforting.

Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet play sisters Elinor and Marianne, who are forced into dire straits when the bulk of their late father’s estate is given to a son from his first marriage due to the wack gender politics of the time. They’ll have to navigate a world that isn’t hospitable to women in their situation by balancing Elinor’s practicality with Marianne’s romantic nature.

With a huge dose of charm and humor, SENSE AND SENSIBILITY makes perfect use of its magnificent cast (including Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman) and expertly-crafted screenplay, resulting in one of the greatest Jane Austen adaptations ever made. Join us for a cup of tea, some tasty treats, and one of our favorite period pieces.

Your ticket purchase comes with three servings of tea and the following treats:
Green Onion Scones with Whipped Butter
English Cucumber with Herbed Cheese
Almond Cheesecake with Strawberries
