Enjoy the arrival of spring and new beginnings at the Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary in Nokesville. This 11-acre working farm shelters more than 150 animals rescued from neglect, abandonment or abuse. The Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary provides an up-close learning experience for youths and adults on the unique natures of its resident animals. Visitors can learn about, interact with and help care for horses, pigs and piglets, alpacas, donkeys, cows, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens and turkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs as well as dogs and cats. Supervised activities that visitors can participate in at the Farm Sanctuary include grooming and feeding the animals as well as cleaning their living areas. Visitors include families, disabled children and adults, veterans and active members of the military, first responders as well as school groups, volunteers and other individuals.
The Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary is open for visits, tours, volunteering and children’s birthday parties on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 am to 1 pm. During the COVID pandemic up to three individuals, groups or families are welcome to visit each day that the farm is open. All recommended safety protocols are followed. A two-hour visit, which includes a guided tour and supervised interaction with animals, is $20 per individual, family or group (up to five individuals). Visits and tours are complimentary for veterans and active-duty military. The Farm Sanctuary also offers its site for children’s birthday parties.
