History by Campfire: Shepherdstown Comes to Manassas

Join us for a campfire and roasted marshmallows at Ben Lomond while you learn some history! On July 21, 1861 Ben Lomond was inundated by hundreds of young men who were wounded at the Battle of First Manassas. A good number of these boys were the area around Shepherdstown (now West Virginia). Soon families and religious leaders came from Shepherdstown to assist in taking care of the sons, neighbors and loved ones. Join us for a talk about these people, who they were and the trying days and nights they spent at Ben Lomond impacted their lives.

Tickets are $5 per person; children under 2 are free. No advanced registration is required.
