Wade and Dessie Ellis' 'country home' Rippon Lodge was featured in Virginia's Historic Garden Week from the late 20's to the late 40's. Visit Rippon Lodge for this socially-distanced outdoor program with staff and the modern day gardeners that make the lovely landscaped surroundings possible to learn more about how the outdoor landscape has evolved from a tobacco plantation into a public park!
This program is approximately 90 minutes and will involve outdoor walking over uneven terrain. Tour will begin on the front porch of the 1747 Lodge down the paved walkway from the parking lot. Masks required indoors and strongly suggested outdoors.
