Get ready! Burnside Farms in Nokesville is blooming again! Starting July 11 and running through mid-August, this yearly summer experience transforms over 70 acres into a colorful sea of more than 30 varieties of sunflowers—planted in successive waves so there’s always something in bloom!
What to Expect
Sunflower Fields & Sunsets
Three free sunflowers come with every ticket (ages 6+); additional picks are $1.50 per stem on-site, or as low as $0.83 each when you pre-purchase online. You’ll have daily access to the fields from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., with Sunflower Sunsets every evening from 4:00 p.m. – dusk, perfect for golden hour photos and cool evening strolls.
New Playground for Kids
Brand new this year is a 4,400 sq ft Tulip-and-Sunflower-Themed Playground, designed for outdoor fun for kids of all ages.
Picnic & Wagon Rides
Enjoy shady relaxation in the 100-year-old dairy barn courtyard—bring a blanket or use the picnic tables. Pull-up wagon rides through the fields let you sit back and soak in the view.
Live Music, Bubbles & Performers
Make some summer magic on Saturdays with the Tribute to Summer Concert Series, featuring bands like Swift Nation (July 12), Shades of Grey (’80s tribute, July 19) and The Chris Sacks Band (beachy favorites, July 26). Fridays bring Foamy Fridays—bubble-filled fun, DJs, and foam parties!
Sunflower Mazes
Don't get lost! Look for at least two four-acre sunflower mazes blooming in rotation throughout the summer—perfect for a fun and photo-ready adventure.
Facts & Visitor Tips
- Tickets by advance purchase only (ages 6+). Mornings cost $15–17 on weekdays; sunsets and weekends range $16–22.50. Early-bird slots are available Saturday–Sunday from 6–8 a.m.
- Farm closes from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily for heat safety.
- Pre-order extra sunflowers online with a significant discounts compared to on-site pricing.
- It's H O T out there! Make sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and bring comfortable shoes! Don’t forget water, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat or umbrella, and maybe a picnic blanket!
