Get ready to make a buzz—the beloved Manassas Bee Festival is returning for its fifth year on Saturday, June 21st, 2025! If you love bees, gardens, sustainability, or just a fun day outdoors with the family, this is one sweet event you won’t want to miss!
Held at the Manassas Museum Lawn (9101 Prince William Street, Manassas, VA) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Bee Festival is free and open to all ages. It's the perfect way to celebrate pollinators and their importance in our world while enjoying a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
So why bees? Why should you care? Great questions!
🐝 If bees disappeared tomorrow, you could say goodbye to apples, almonds, blueberries—and even coffee! Bees help pollinate 70 of the top 100 crops that feed 90% of the world.
🐝 Bees are nature’s tiny farmers. Without them, we’d have a much harder time growing the fruits, veggies, and nuts we love.
🐝 Bees don't just make honey—they make life bloom. Nearly 80% of all flowering plants on Earth rely on pollinators like bees to reproduce.
🐝 Bees are small, but their impact is global. Without bees, entire ecosystems would start to collapse, affecting everything from wildlife to human food chains.
🐝 1 out of every 3 bites of food you eat depends on pollinators like bees. (USDA)
🐝 Bee populations are declining due to habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change. Protecting bees isn’t just about saving them—it’s about saving ourselves.
🐝 No bees = no food variety. Without bees, grocery stores would have way fewer fruits, nuts, vegetables, and even meat (since livestock depends on bee-pollinated crops for feed).
What to Expect:
This year’s festival is packed with exciting activities and educational experiences. Expect everything from honey tastings and pollinator-themed games to eco-friendly exhibits and live music. Local beekeepers will be on-site to share their knowledge, and you'll even get a chance to see live bees up close (safely, of course)!
Vendors and nonprofit organizations will offer a variety of goods and tips for sustainable living, native plant gardening, and helping our vital bee populations thrive. Plus, there will be fun crafts for the kids, food trucks, and a relaxed, buzzing vibe that makes for a perfect summer Saturday.
New This Year:
Special brews made with local honey from the Liberia House & Grounds' apiary, historic Liberty Street apiary, and local beekeeper backyard apiaries. As a supporter of the festival, Sinistral Brewing Co. will serve their limited-edition new brew—"Bee City Lager!"
Plan Your Visit:
Parking is available at the nearby City Hall parking lot (9027 Center Street), just a short walk from all the festivities. The event is rain or shine, so come prepared to enjoy the day no matter the weather!
