This February, Prince William, Virginia is cheering on one of its brightest stars. Shaboozey, the Woodbridge-born artist whose genre-blending sound has captivated listeners around the world, just won his first Grammy Award—a milestone moment not only for his career but for our community!

A Grammy Win Worth Celebrating

At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 1st, 2026, Shaboozey took home the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the song Amen, a collaboration with fellow artist Jelly Roll. This category recognizes artistic excellence in country music performed by duos or groups and has become a highlight of the ceremony’s premiere segments.

The win was as emotional as it was historic. Shaboozey, born Collins Obinna Chibueze and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, accepted the award with heartfelt gratitude, paying tribute to his family and their journey. He dedicated the Grammy to his mother, who retired the very day he won after more than 30 years as a nurse supporting their family, as well as to children of immigrants everywhere.

“This is for all children of immigrants… You give America color,” he said, recognizing the diverse contributions that shape American life and culture. His emotional speech resonated with fans worldwide and underscored the power of perseverance, family support, and community pride.
