Burnside Farms, located in Nokesville, VA plants more than 30 varieties of sunflowers on eight acres in successive crops to ensure visitors can enjoy blooms throughout the summer. The Summer of Sunflowers typically lasts until Labor Day weekend. Peak bloom times are challenging to predict but are currently estimated for the end of July.

🌻Check their Facebook page for field conditions prior to heading out.
🌻It can get hot out in the fields. Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothes and bring an umbrella to provide some shade. (Burnside Farms also has cute sunflower umbrellas you can borrow.)
🌻Burnside provides baskets and shears for collecting your favorite sunflowers. They recommend bringing a small bucket with water to keep your flowers hydrated on the ride home. You can keep the bucket in the car.
🌻Bring the kids - not only for the Instagram-worthy photos but also for the fun kids' activities around the farm. (jump pad, bounce house, two-story slide, bubble stations, chalkboard message signs for photos, cornhole games, kids clubhouse play area, corn sandbox and short cinema theater).
🌻 Burnside has one of the nation's only Sunflower Maze! The sunflower maze is about 5 acres and only blooms for about two weeks. Bloom time varies from year to year - so make sure you check out their Facebook page for updates.
🌻 Enjoy a Sunflower Sunset! Offered daily from 6 pm - 8 pm (weather dependant).
🌻Pack your lunch and enjoy a picnic in the shaded picnic area.
🌻Bring fido - well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed.
