  • "In Our Image" Art Exhibit by Dr. Yemonja Smalls - ARTfactory
    • ​​A Reflection of the Creator” Each work serves as a portal into realms where the ethereal meets the tangible, challenging viewers to contemplate the sublime nature of creation and our spiritual essence. Inspired by a Bible scripture that states that humans were created in God’s image, I mindfully sought to “create” some. You are invited on a visual odyssey moving across the timeless theme of human essence mirrored in the divine.
  • Poetic Visions of A Nation: a Black History Exhibition - Open Space Arts Center
    • The exhibit aims to delve into Langston Hughes' poem "I, Too" and its broader implications on American society, history, and culture. It seeks to convey the evolution of African American identity, the ongoing struggle for civil rights, and the significance of diverse voices in shaping the American narrative.
  • Black History Month Wine Dinner - Piedmont Club
    • In honor of Black History Month, PIEDMONT CLUB will be celebrating with a specialty wine pairing dinner. Chef Pete Smith is collaborating with Kindra Dionne of The Fifty Leven Collection to curate a locally sourced menu paired harmoniously fine wines. Kindra is a Richmond, Virginia native and current resident of D.C.’s Wine Country. As one of the few African American wine makers in our local area this partnership will be a unique and delicious celebration of African, Caribbean and Southern flavors.
  • Prince William County African American History & Culture Bus Tour - Brentsville Courthouse 
    • Join local historians on a daylong tour exploring the unique and powerful stories behind the African American history of Prince William County. We will travel the county, exploring the 1800s all the way through the 1960s, stopping at many special, sometimes forgotten, sites to learn about the lifestyle, challenges, and the power of education in the African American community. Sites will include Prince William Forest Park, Brentsville Courthouse, and much more!
      • Admission: $70 per person - includes lunch
  • Black History Celebration - Town of Dumfries
    • Highlighting African Americans and the Arts. Distinguished Speakers, Cultural performances & Inspiring presentations by a local artist!
