Spring Fling 2025 at Hope and Serenity Farm Sanctuary
Spring has sprung at Hope and Serenity Farm Sanctuary. Join us on Saturday, April 5th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for family fun on the farm with an egg hunt for the kids, spring crafts, animal education, and interaction with our herd. Mr. Sprinkles the horse will be dressed as the Easter bunny for photos. Mountain Stage hosted by Kathy Mattea
Become a part of broadcast history on Sunday, April 6th as two-time GRAMMY Award winner and West Virginia native Kathy Mattea hosts a taping of Mountain Stage, live from the Hylton Center’s Merchant Hall. Since 1983, Mountain Stage has, for nearly 40 years, given listeners the “best seat in the house” for performances by rising stars and longtime legends. Recorded in front of a live audience, each two-hour episode features contemporary artists in genres ranging from roots, folk, blues, and country to indie rock, synth pop, world music, alternative, and beyond. Some of their most iconic guests have included Regina Spektor, John Prine, R.E.M., Phish, Alison Krauss, and Buddy Guy, among many others. Witness the stars of today and tomorrow in this on-the-road taping of one of the most beloved and enduring programs in public radio history.
This performance will be taped live for radio broadcast and is recommended for patrons ages 7 and older.
Rippon Lodge Easter Egg Trail
The Easter Bunny made his fun activity trail for your enjoyment at Rippon Lodge Historic Site. On April 12th, look for hidden objects, do physical tasks, tell a joke, and more to receive your eggs as you walk through the historic home. Family members may join in the fun! Keep an eye out for those special prize eggs.
Bring your own basket. Timed walks for age groups, family units no larger than 4 allowed at one time. Walking along uneven surfaces and stairs. Parental supervision required. You'll enjoy learning about the flora and fauna of the area, as well as some fascinating facts about the fully illuminated moon. We'll finish our hike with a yummy smore by the firepit!
